Placebo – 20 Jahre Karriere als MTV Unplugged

Rechtzeitig zu ihrem 20-jährigen Bestehen werden nun Placebo mit einem MTV Unplugged geadelt. Aufgezeichnet wird das exklusive Konzert im August 2015 in London und soll noch dieses Jahr ausgestrahlt werden. Damit bietet die Band ein ganz besonderes Geschenk zum anstehenden Bandjubiläum, das für alle Fans und zuletzt auch für die Musiker selbst, das bisherige Schaffen von PLACEBO in neuen musikalischen Arrangements und mit besonderen Gästen Revue passieren lässt.

London ist auch die Stadt, in der 1995 das erste gemeinsame Konzert über die Bühne ging, bevor im darauffolgenden Jahr mit „PLACEBO“ das erste Album der Band veröffentlicht wurde. Placebo hat bis heute die Musikgeschichte der Neuzeit in ganz eigenen und unverwechselbaren Kapiteln mitgeschrieben. Sie haben weltweit über 12 Millionen Tonträger verkauft und sieben Studioalben veröffentlicht. Wir haben mit den Machern gesprochen und wollten natürlich so viel wie möglich über das geplante MTV Unplugged erfahren.

Mara Ridder-Reichert, Director Talent & Music MTV Northern Europe, fügt hinzu: „Ohne zu viel verraten zu wollen: Das Konzept für das MTV Unplugged mit Placebo wird außergewöhnlich und schön. Es wird eine perfekte Synergie der Marken Placebo und MTV Unplugged.“

Angus Blue, Riverman Management ergänzt: „Diese Show ist eine einzigartige Möglichkeit für die Band ihren extensiven Katalog an Songs neu zu definieren, neu zu interpretieren und in noch nie gehörte Akustikversionen zu transportieren. Das Ziel der Band ist es, eine Show zu produzieren, die ganz im Zeichen der klassischen MTV Unplugged Seele steht und mit moderne Elementen vereint.“
