Dua Lipas „Levitating“-Remix mit Madonna und Missy Elliott ist da!

Die Erwartungen sind hoch, wenn Dua Lipa einen Remix zusammen mit Madonna und Missy Elliott ankündigt. Zudem kommt der Mix auch noch von The Blessed Madonna. Kann der „Levitating“-Remix überzeugen?

Nachdem sie in dieser Woche die Moderation der Jimmy Kimmel Live-Show in L.A. für einen Abend übernommen und das Publikum begeistert hat, gibt es am Donnerstag (13.08.20 — 18 Uhr deutscher Zeit) neue Musik von Dua Lipa! Am 28. August erscheint ihr Remix Album “Club Future Nostalgia”, doch zuvor erscheint jetzt die Single “Levitating”, ein Gipfeltreffen der Giganten, denn neben Missy Elliott ist auch Pop-Queen Madonna mit dabei!

„Die letzten Monate waren echt surreal. Ich habe euch allen dabei zugesehen, wie ihr in den eigenen vier Wänden und bei Zoom-Partys zu ‘Future Nostalgia’ getanzt habt, als ob wir alle zusammen im Club gewesen wären“, sagt Dua über die Entstehung des neuen Albums. „Ich habe mich so riesig darüber gefreut – obwohl ich natürlich noch viel lieber auf Tour gewesen wäre und euch diese Songs live präsentiert hätte. Auf jeden Fall hatte ich in der Zeit die Idee, in Sachen Party noch einen draufzulegen, und zwar zusammen mit The Blessed Madonna. Sie war es nämlich, die mir im Hintergrund dabei geholfen hat, dieses Mixtape zu machen, aus dem dann ‘Club Future Nostalgia’ werden sollte. Ein Riesenspaß war das, weil wir so viele Freunde und echte Legenden dazu geholt haben. Die absoluten Königinnen Missy und Madonna sind beim epischen Remix von ‘Levitating’ dabei, und mein Traum-Featuregast Gwen Stefani und der grandiose Mark Ronson bringen ‘Physical’ auf ein neues Level. Und das ist ja erst der Auftakt der Party! Da kommen noch so viele Überraschungen!“

Der Remix tut sich etwas schwer

Mit einem Remix ist das immer so eine Sache. Entweder wird der Remix größer, als das Original (wie z.B. bei „I Follow Rivers“ von Lykke Li) oder der Remix dient einfach nur dazu, dem Song einem anderen Genre und somit Zielgruppe zugänglich zu machen. Bei “Levitating” ist das Problem, dass der Remix wie eine Art neue Single angekündigt wurde. Man erwartet sehr viel. Sowohl das Video, als auch der Remix bleiben leider etwas hinter den Erwartungen zurück, was aber nicht heißen soll, dass diese Nummer nicht groovt und abgeht.

Mich stört am meisten, dass man Madonna und Dua Lipa kaum stimmlich groß unterscheidet. Es ist der erste Track mit Madonna, bei dem man Madonna irgendwie nicht wirklich raus hört. Dennoch ist der Remix tanzbar und es passt zu dem „Club Future Nostalgia“-Thema. Allerdings habe ich im Netz auch eine Version gefunden, bei der jemand die neuen Vocals mit Madonna und Missy auf das Original gelegt hat. Finde ich tatsächlich sogar besser. / Berry
