Mit „Still On My Mind“ meldet sich niemand Geringere, als die britische Pop-Sängerin Dido mit ihrem ersten Album seit mehr als fünf Jahren im Rampenlicht zurück. Zusätzlich hat die Sängerin ihre erste Tour seit 15 Jahren angekündigt, auf der sie neben Songs des kommenden Albums auch millionenfach verkaufte Megahits wie „Thank You“, „Here With Me“, „White Flag“ und „Life For Rent“ performen wird.
„Still On My Mind“ ist Didos fünftes Studioalbum. Alle Songs wurden in ihrer englischen Heimat komponiert und aufgenommen. Unterstützung bekam die Musikerin dabei von ihrem langjährigem Songwriting-Partner und Bruder, Faithless-Gründer Rollo. „Es war ganz simpel“, so Dido. „Ich wollte nur unter einer einzigen Bedingung ein weiteres Album aufnehmen: Wenn ich mit ihm arbeiten könnte. Alles hat sich sehr leicht angefühlt. Die Vocals haben wir ganz entspannt auf dem Sofa aufgenommen; viel entstand bei mir zu Hause.“ Mit „Still On My Mind“ veröffentlicht Dido den Nachfolger ihres gefeierten Longplayers „Girl Who Got Away“ aus dem Jahr 2013.
Mit dem mitreißenden „Hurricanes“ gibt Dido bereits jetzt einen ersten Vorgeschmack auf ihr kommendes Album. Schon während der ersten Noten des kraftstrotzenden Comeback-Tracks wird klar, dass Didos Stimme nie größer und besser klang als heute.
