CHARLI XCX veröffentlicht Quarantäne-Album und erste Single „Forever“!

Konzerte sind vielleicht gestrichen, aber Musik nicht. Nachdem Charli XCX mit ihrem Livestream-Programm der letzten Wochen so etwas wie die ungekrönte Königin der Coronavirus-Wohnzimmer-Performances geworden ist, erschafft sie nun ein Album, das komplett in heimischer Selbstisolation geschrieben, aufgenommen und veröffentlicht wird.

„How I’m Feeling Now“ erscheint am 15. Mai und folgt auf ihr 2019 veröffentlichtes, drittes Album „Charli“. Erst vor kurzem hatte Charli XCX vor 1000 Fans bei Zoom ihr neues Album angekündigt. Die britische Sängerin war ja bis zuletzt in Quarantäne sehr aktiv auf Instagram – u.a. mit Diplo beim live sporteln, mit Kim Petras beim „Would you rather?“ spielen oder beim Live-Kunstunterricht mit der amerikanischen Songwriterin Clairo.  

Fans reichen über 5000 Clips ein

Nun nutzt sie also die Zeit um direkt ein ganzes Album aufzunehmen und mit verschiedenen Künstlern digital zu kooperieren. Die erste Single „Forever“, die am 9. April erschien, bekam beispielsweise drei Artworks und jetzt auch ein selbst gedrehtes Video. Der Clip wurde gemeinsam von Charli und Dan Streit „gedreht“ und hebt die Zusammenarbeit mit den Fans von Charli (aka Angels) auf die nächste Stufe. Diese steuerten mehr als 5000 Clips bei, die für die Erstellung des Videos zusammengefügt wurden. / Berry
